Welcome to my Substack-here’s why I’m here and what you get out of it!
Why this, why now?
I first started writing online in 2004 with a blog called The Mystic Altar on the Blogger (or blogspot) platform.
But before the internet, from the age of 8, I would fill pages and pages of notebook after notebook with my stories, poems, or just plain reflections and ruminations.
Writing has always helped me crystallise my thoughts and feelings into a form that was clearer. Seeing my thoughts on paper helped me understand myself, my life, and the world better.
When the World Wide Web blew open for me in the year 2000, along with my first computer, it seemed a natural progression to type rather than write. But the effect of seeing my words in black on white remained as potent as ever.
The only difference with “publishing” my thoughts online is that I can connect to others and not just to myself. Engaging in an intellectual discourse with people, whether they hold the same or differing views, always helps me to deepen and widen my own perspectives.
My hope is that you will feel the same way after reading my posts.
What can you expect from The Words Witch?
My reflex reaction to anything and everything that touches, moves, inspires, or enrages me is to write about it!
Outside of my 9-to-5 job as the content team lead in a fintech, I love spending time reading, watching movies/series, tending to my indoor plants and balcony “garden”, beautifying my home, cooking and baking.
I have a 13-year-old son, so my journey as a single parent 6 days of the week, with its lessons and challenges is also something I will write about. Because as he grows, I grow too.
I haven’t read fiction since my 20s. What I read extensively about now is psychology, personal and spiritual development, creative living, feminism, food, and art.
So, you can bet that anything I write about will be through a feminist and self-growth lens.
If this sounds like something you would like to read on a weekly basis (sometimes more!) then it would mean a lot to me if you took the extra step of subscribing to this newsletter. Your email address is safe here, no worries!
My dream life is to be financially independent doing nothing but writing whatever I like! Substack’s paid subscription option gives me the hope that someday, maybe, just maybe, my dream can come true. So if that’s something you feel like doing to support my writing, my heartfelt thanks in advance!
But if not, no worries, your readership is more than enough so please choose the “free subscription” option below so that you get my latest posts without fail!

Best wishes my wise friend. May your words heal and enlighten the world.
